Fifty new Officers in Charge of Police stations, including a female have been appointed with the approval of the National Police Commission.
Female Chief Inspector S.M.I.K. Samarakoon attached to the Kelaniya Division has been appointed as the OIC of the Dungalpitiya Police station.
Also 53 OIC’s have been moved to normal duties in the process.
Thirty six OIC’s have been transferred to other stations.
The transfers will be effective in two stages with the first batch assuming duties tomorrow and the next batch on February 18.
