In order to overcome a crisis over admitting more students to grade six based on their grade five scholarship results, the Education Ministry is planning to have 50 students in a class room.
The crisis started off after the cutoff marks for the admission based on grade five scholarship exam was raised. As a result several students who would have got into leading schools were left out.
The Ministry has now proposed that in order to accommodate the students, the number of students in grade six of the leading schools should be increased to 50.
Few years back the government was trying to keep the maximum number of students at 35 in a class room due to practical difficulties in handling the class room.
