The first phase of administering China’s 50,000 Sinopharm vaccines to persons in Jaffna completed within three days since the programme launched last Sunday.
District Secretary of Jaffna K. Mahesan told reporters yesterday that the vaccination process is put on hold until another batch of vaccines arrived by next week.
Meanwhile National Operations Center for the Prevention of the Covid - 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said second dose of the Chinese - made Sinopharm Covid vaccine will be administered from June 8 onwards.
So far, 666,612 people have been given the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine, according to NOCPCO.
