Fishing and naval communities have been advised to avoid venturing into sea areas of South-east Bay of Bengal due to a low pressure condition intensifying into a depression.
The Meteorology Department said heavy showers, thundershowers and very rough seas can be expected in the above sea areas.
Meanwhile, Northern, Eastern, North Central and Northwestern areas will receive fairly heavy rains today(15). Coastal areas of Western and Southern areas too will experience rains throughout the day.
Jaffna recorded the highest rainfall of 119 mm in the past 24 hours while Colombo recorded the highest temperature of 31.5 degrees.
