Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry is scheduled to visit China from June 24 to 30 following an invitation extended by Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said.
The visit comes in the wake of the government engaging in an external debt restructuring process with international and bilateral creditors, including China following the bailout package from the International Monetary Forum (IMF).
Earlier, China reportedly raised concerns over restructuring its bilateral debt with Sri Lanka but assured continuous support.
