Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath is to take part in the 8th Indian Ocean Conference at Muscat in Oman to be held tomorrow (16) and Monday (17).
Minister Herath is due to address the conference tomorrow.Foreign Ministers from Australia, Mauritius, Kenya, Iran and Eritrea are also due to address the conference.
The conference will focus on issues such as maritime economic interests, Information Technology, and investment, Minister Herath told Timesonline. He added that he hoped to use the conference to promote investment in Colombo Port City.
The minister is also due to hold bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts on the sidelines of the conference. They include meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Iran, Mauritius, India and Bhutan.
