The former Officer in Charge of the Kalpitiya Police station IP Sugath Nishantha Kumara accused of sexually harassing a new female police constable recruit was granted bail today.
The suspect was granted bail by Puttalam Magistrate and Additional District Judge Ayona Wimalaratna.
Accordingly he was released on two surety bails of Rs 100,000 each and the case was fixed by May 13.
Earlier the OIC was produced in courts on March 6 and remanded until March 13 on the grounds he had threatened the complainant.
Previously he was on bail.
