A former Private Secretary of Labour and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara has been arrested over corruption charges by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
The former Private Secretary Yahampath Gunaratne had allegedly had demanded Rs 4.3 million from an institution selected to carryout a workshop for officers of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau.
The former Private Secretary is also accused of illegally taking part in the selection of the Institution.
He was produced before the Chief Magistrate Courts Colombo and was released on bail.
