A 19 year old youth died while returning from a batch party in Palapathwela, Matale today (April 8).
Dushmantha Sithul Wijesekara, a student of St. Thomas’s College, Matale and a former cricket captain of the school team, had written GCE Advanced Level examination this year.
He had attended a batch party held last night, and was returning in a car, driven by his classmate and accompanied by another classmate.
The car had struck a tree at Palapathwela area of Matale in the morning today, killing Dushmantha Wijesekara instantly and injuring the other two classmates.
The classmate who had driven the vehicle was admitted to the ICU of the Kandy Hospital, while the other was admitted to the Matale hospital.
