Former Speaker W.J.M. Lokubandara has been infected with COVID-19 and admitted to a private hospital.
Meanwhile the number of COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Sri Lanka with over 800 cases being reported for five consecutive days.
The number of COV ID-19 cases reported from the outstations too has been on the rise. During the last 24 hours, 131 cases were reported from Kandy while 78 from Kurunegala, 37 from Matale, 29 from Galle, and 28 from Ratnapura.
212 cases in Colombo,132 in Gampaha and 62 in Kalutara were also among the total of 826 cases.
