The Governors of the North, East & Wayamba Provinces have been removed by the President today, the President’s Media Division said.
The PMD said the new Governors will be appointed by next Wednesday (17).
However the release did not explain the process followed to remove them from the positions.
Constitutionally, a resolution should be passed in the provincial council to remove the Governors, if they do not resign on their own.
