A 14-year-old girl from Mount Temple area in Gampola has died after being beaten by her father and uncle, Gampola police said.
Police said the duo have been arrested and investigation has commenced following a complaint made by her mother stating that the girl was severely beaten by her father and uncle two days ago after it was revealed that she was having a love affair. The girl who had complained of pains had fainted and died on admission to Gampola Base Hospital yesterday (21).
