A system of free of charge visas for nationals from seven countries has been put into effect immediately by the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
The system will be effective for nationals from China, India, Indonesia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan until March 31, 2024.
The free visas are being issued in a bid to rebuild the tourism industry, the Department said.
The nationals from the seven countries should apply for Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before arriving in Sri Lanka subject to granting free of charge visas.
