Fuel stocks required for power generation will be over today, a senior official of the Ministry of Power said.
He said the Ceylon Electricity Board is awaiting a report from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation on the amount of diesel to be released for electricity generation.
“If the required amount for power generation is not received, the CEB will be compelled to go for power cuts starting from today (26),” he said.
This comes amidst the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) stating that there is no need for power interruption till January 27 due to sufficient stocks of fuel to generate electricity.
