Two men posing as fishermen and trying to smuggle gold to the value of Rs 140 million to India were nabbed mid-sea by the Navy in Kalpitiya.
They were arrested in the Sinna Arichchal area with the gold weighing four kilo grams and 454 grams.
The two men claimed they were due to hand over the gold mid-sea to an Indian fishing boat.
The suspects and the gold are due to be handed over to the Customs.
