Government employees who have handed in nominations for the Local Government (LG) elections have been given a relief.
The Cabinet had granted approval for such government employees to engage in employment in the closest LG constituency other than the one they are contesting yesterday (May 2).
This decision was proposed by the Prime Minister, Dinesh Gunawardena, as the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provisional Councils and Local Government.
