The Government will impose a price control on sugar, dhal and dried sprats, if local traders increase prices, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.
He said the government was closely monitoring the prices and that as soon as market prices are increased it will impose controlled pricing.
He said, meanwhile the government has also decided to import 6000 kgs of Basmathi rice.
