Two gunmen involved in the shooting of a three-wheel driver in Matara have been arrested in Hettipola, Kegalle by the Special Task Force (STF).
The shooting was carried out on October 15.
The man who provided shelter to the two gunmen has also been arrested. Earlier the driver and a man who provided information leading to the murder too were arrested.
Police believe that the killing was carried out on the directions of Rotambu Amila currently ovreseas. He had provided the weapon and the vehicle used in the crime.
The vehicle was found abandoned in Mahalwarawa, Pannipiitya.
The operation was carried out on the directions by Senior DIG Waruna Jayasundara, Commandant of the STF. Assistant Superintendent of Police (Intelligence, Organised crimes and Narcotics) Sagara Kulasekara supervised the operation while IP P.W.A.J.P.K. Wanniaarachchi and team made the arrests.
