Northern, North-Central, North-Western provinces and Trincomalee, Hambantota and Monaragala districts will experience fairly strong winds today (16), the Meteorology Department forecasted.
The Department said the wind speed in the above areas could go up to 40-45 kmph. Except few showers in Western and Sabaragmuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts, sunny weather is expected in other parts of the country.
The highest temperature during the past 24 hours was reported from Polonnaruwa district (37 degrees).
