Health Unions have suspended their proposed strike due to commence tomorrow morning after an assurance from the government that their demand for an allowance would be met.
The Trade Union was temporarily suspended following a discussion at the Presidential Secretariat today.
A written assurance was provided by the Secretary, Ministry of Health, that the first section of the payment will be provided in May.
Plans to pay the second half of the payment will be notified within the coming four weeks.
The Health Unions have been demanding an allowance paid to doctors.
The doctors are paid Disturbance, Availability and Transport (DAT) allowance.
