The Department of Meteorology has today (28) issued an ‘Amber’ level alert for heavy rainfall in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva provinces, as well as in the Kalutara District.
Wet weather conditions are predicted to enhance across the island owing to an atmospheric disturbance over the Southeast Bay of Bengal Sea area, according to the advisory issued.
Heavy rains over 100 mm are expected in parts of the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as the Kalutara district, according to the Met. Department.
