Showers or thundershowers are predicted for several places in the island today after 2:00 pm, the Department of Meteorology said.
Scattered showers are expected in Northern, North-central and Eastern and Uva Provinces along with Hambantota District.
Matale and Nuwara Eliya Districts will also see a few showers.
Fairly heavy rainfall over 75mm are likely at certain areas in Uva Province and in Ampara and Batticaloa Districts.
Occasional high winds of 30-40 KMPH are foreseen in Northern, North-central, Eastern and Uva Provinces and in Hambantota Districts as well as on eastern slopes of the central hills.
Parts of Sabaragamuwa, Central and Western Provinces besides Galle and Matara Districts will have misty mornings.
