IN PIX: Oil-anointing ceremonies

News

The traditional oil-anointing ceremonies took place across the country keeping with the rituals of the Sinhala and Tamil New year.

The official state ceremony took place at the Natha Devalaya grounds, located within the premises of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.

A ceremony also took place at the Ganagaramaya temple in Colombo.
