The arrival of a salt shipment imported from India has been delayed due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, the state-run National Salt Company said.
The vessel, carrying a total of 3,050 metric tons of salt, was initially scheduled to arrive last night (21). Of the consignment, 2,800 metric tons were imported by the National Salt Company, while the remaining 250 metric tons were imported by the private sector.
The company noted that the shipment may now be delayed by a few more days, but assured that additional consignments of salt would continue to arrive in the coming days.
These imports are part of ongoing efforts to ease the salt shortage currently affecting the market, the company added.
