A group of activists from the 'Aragalaya' staged a protest this evening opposite the Fort Railway Station demanding an end to the crackdown on activists. Later, they attempted to march towards Police Headquarters but were obstructed by police, leading to a heated argument between police and protesters.
Police subsequently allowed six activists to enter Police Headquarters and hand over a petition meant for the Inspector General of Police.
