The students' union of the Kelaniya University held a protest opposite the Fort Railway station today demanding the retraction of the expulsions of some student leaders and years long suspensions given to others.
They also protested against the steps taken by university administration to demand compensation from student leaders over the damage caused to CCTV equipment on campus that were removed by the students.
The students' union distributed leaflets at the Fort Railway station among the public to raise awareness on the matter and also commenced a campaign to collect signatures from the public in support of their demands.
