The National War Heroes' Commemoration held to coincide with the 14th anniversary of the end of the war was held on yesterday (19) at the National War Heroes' Memorial in Battaramulla. President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena joined other dignitaries and relatives of fallen servicemen and women to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the motherland.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
