The All Island Zoological Gardens Employee Union held a protest today against "corrupt" officials and nongovernmental organizations which they claimed is sabotaging operations at the zoo.
They said that corrupt groups, officials and nongovernmental organizations are sabotaging activities at the zoo and are making money by pointing out alleged faults of the Department of Zoological Gardens.
They said that Director General Shermila Rajapaksa, who temporally resigned should be reinstated and given opportunity to work without interference
Protesters stressed that the job security of employees should be garneted while given a working environment.
