In Pictures; “Release war prisoners” Protest in front of UN office

News

A protest was held in front of the United Nations head office today by individuals attached to the association of free women.

They demanded Israel to vacate the occupied territory of Palestine and release the prisoners held by both parties.

BBC reported that a temporary cease fire agreement fell apart last Friday, while ground offensive re-commenced hours later. So far at least 16200 people have been killed in Gaza following the surprise attack by Hamas which killed 1200 Israelis taking about 240 hostages.

Customs seize Rs. 119 Mn worth of cigarettes and whisky hidden in furniture shipment

In a major detection at the Ceylon Shipping Lines (CSL) warehouse in Colombo 09, Sri Lanka Customs officers uncovered a large consignment of contraband cigarettes and whisky concealed within a shipment declared as household furniture and personal goods.
