Protesters, mainly comprising youth held large scale protests at several locations in Colombo on Monday demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his government.
A protest organised by young people over social media was held at Independence Square while unversity students held a protest in Nugegoda. The Young Lawyers' Association, Young Journalists' Association and civil society activists held a protest at Lipton Circus.
