Thai Pongal was celebrated in most parts of the North this morning (14) under health guidelines, except within the Vavuniya town limits, which has been isolated due to the spread of COVID-19.
Thai Pongal celebrations did not take place at Hindu Kovils within the town limits due to the town's isolation, while traders also stayed home as all shops in town are closed.
