The Joint Health Workers’ Union (JHWU) Protest staged a protest in front of Colombo National hospital today afternoon demanding government resolve their pending trade union requests including allowances.
One of the main demands of the Union is to increase the monthly allowance to Rs 20,000 and other pending trade union issues. At least two dozens of the workers attached to the Union took part in the protest. (Pix by Akila Jayawardena)

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
