Domestic Workers Union along with five other unions held a protest campaign in front of the Labour Department in Narahenpita today (2) demanding that they also be allowed to enjoy similar benefits other workers get.
These demands include EPF/ETF, working hours/holidays and leave entitlement, health facilities and that they be placed under Wages Board.
They also demanded justice to Hishalini’s death.
