At least half a dozen protests were held in front of hospitals with medical staff demanding authorities to address the severe medicinal drug shortage.
Over 300 staff members from doctors, nurses, and laboratory technicians of Puttalam base hospital held an afternoon protest in front of the hospital demanding the government to address the medicine shortage without delay.
Doctors and medical staff of District General Hospital- Kalutara too took to streets pressing the government to provide sufficient essential medicines to hospitals.
Protestors, both public and civil rights groups stood at Polduwa junction near the Parliament entrance today holding placards and shouting slogans for the fourth consecutive day demanding the President’s and MPs resignation.
Similar protests were held in Tangalle town, Kandy-Digana while estate workers protested against the rising cost of living, fuel shortage and salary issues in Haputale.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya councillors of the Sri Jayawardenapura-Kotte Municipal Council held a protest in Rajagiriya today demanding the government to step down if they fail to address the public concerns.
A similar protest was staged by SJB councillors of Moratuwa Municipal Council in Kurusa handiya in Moratuwa today.
