About 1500 persons from 450 families were affected by recent heavy rains that resulted in flash floods in the Northern province.
Majority of the families affected by floods were from Point Pedro, Karaveddy, Polikandy, Maruthankerny, Chavakachcheri and Karainagar in Jaffna district.
Heavy rains also affected Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu and Mannar districts as well. (Pix by Romesh Madushanka)
