In line with International Women’s Day, which falls on today (March 8), President Ranil Wickremesinghe honoured four distinguished women who have raised the image, courage and pride of Sri Lankan women nationally and internationally today in Colombo.
On that account, Dr. Sujatha Attanayake, Kalasuri Sriyani Amarasena, Anula de Silva and Rashmi Nimesha Gunawardena were felicitated by the President as proud and distinguished women figures.
Women, Children Affairs and Social Empowerment State Minister Geetha Kumarasinghe added that 25 women who have become the best entrepreneurs from the district level will be selected and evaluated by awarding prizes and certificates during the celebration ceremony itself which was held today at the Water’s Edge Hotel in Battaramulla, Colombo.
