Teachers in Jaffna today held a vehicle parade in protest against the government's failure to address the issue of teacher salaries.
Police and health authorities warned that the protest should not take place, but the teachers ignored the warnings.
The vehicle procession which commenced near the Weerasingham Hall ended near the Jaffna District Secretariat.
