About 50 villagers stormed into the Bope-Poddala Pradeshiya Sabha meeting demanding authorities address their concerns.
The villagers charged that local council members have ignored continuous pleas to repair a broken canal on the Watareka-Kalupahana road.
The villagers said they have been complaining for over three years. The Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha Dilruk Abeykoon assured the protesting villagers that financial allocations were needed for the repairs and once received repairs will be carried out without delay.
