Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshbandu Tennakoon today deployed twenty Police groups to suppress underworld crimes.
Accordingly, each group consists of nine officers, four intelligence officers, two Special Task Force (STF) officers and two police officers, and is equipped with a jeep.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
