The Indian Government has proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Lanka on allowing a limited number of tourists to visit the country subject to COVID-19 health guidelines.
A Tourism Ministry source stated that aside from tourists, the MoU also seeks entry for pilgrims, those coming for medical treatment and business travelers.
The source stated that the draft of the proposed MoU has been forwarded to the Attorney General for his advice.
Tourists visiting Sri Lanka from India will have to fly via SriLankan Airlines, the Tourism Ministry official added.
