An Iranian tourist was hospitalised yesterday (3) after he fell from a moving train near the Diyathalawa Railway Station.
The tourist had been on the train traveling from Colombo to Badulla when he met with the accident. He had struck a tunnel the train was going through and fallen onto the tracks.
The 34-year-old victim was part of a group of 11 Iranian tourists who were traveling on the train from Nanuoya to Ella.
He was admitted to the Diyathalawa Base Hospital with injuries to his head and one leg. A hospital spokesman said his condition was not serious. Diyathalawa Police are investigating.
