Former Member of Parliament J.R.P. Suriyapperuma passed away today, January 2, 2025, at the age of 96.
Born on June 28, 1928, he initially worked as a teacher before transitioning into a career in politics, where he became a significant figure in Sri Lanka's political landscape.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
