Jaffna University students take streets demanding regime change
Students attached to the University of Jaffna staged a protest march demanding the government to resign immediately taking responsibility for inefficient governance and mismanagement of the economy that resulted current economic crisis.
Students commenced their protest in front of the university gate this morning and marched towards the Jaffna bus stand. Students held placards that read "Go Home Gota", "Resign now, enough is enough" chanting slogans saying the government put the future of the young generation bleak due to corruption, plundering of national resources, and nepotism. Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
