An International Emergency Assistance Team and Medical Team consisting of 31 members from Japan will arrive in Sri Lanka to work in the flood and landslide affected areas in Sri Lanka, the Japanese Embassy said today.
The team including doctors and nurses registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and JICA, is scheduled to depart Japan on December 3.
Based on humanitarian considerations as well as Japan’s friendly relations with the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Government of Japan intends to assist, including the medical team, the Embassy said.
