An emergency situation has been declared at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle due to the surge of COVID-19 patients being admitted to the hospital.
Director of Karapitiya Teaching Hospital Dr. Shelton Perera in a risk alert to all doctors and heads of units said that the health care staff at the hospital are presently at risk due to COVID patients reporting from other wards/units of the hospital.
