The Special Task Force (STF) seized 95 kg of Kerala cannabis brought to Sri Lanka from India by sea in Jaffna on Sunday (October 23).
According to the information received from the Army Intelligence Division to the officers of Special Task Force Jaffna Camp, under the guidance of an ASP ,the commanding officers of STF Jaffna Camp,conducted a raid on the Madagal East Coast Screen in Ilawale.
Subsequently, 95kg 691g of Kerala cannabis, worth nearly 16,000,000.00 rupees, was found in a boat with an engine at around 03:30 AM, but no suspect was present. The cannabis was handed over to the Ilawale Police Station for further investigation.
The STF with the cooperation of the Army Intelligence Division are continuing to arrest suspects who smuggle Kerala cannabis from India by boats.
