Former MP and Minister Kumara Welgama (74) passed away at a private Hospital today morning.
His funeral is due to take place in Matugama. The date and funeral arrangements will be notified later.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
