The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) officers are attempting to track down the owner of an abandoned bag found at unaccompanied baggage storage at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake where a consignment of 'Kush' cannabis, valued at Rs. 100 million was found on Friday (8).
Nineteen kilograms and 588 grams of 'Kush' cannabis were detected by PNB officers and K-9 unit, following a tip-off from the Western Province Police Intelligence Unit, the PNB reported.
Cannabis stock was transported from Canada to Dubai, UAE, and then to Sri Lanka via SriLankan Airlines UL226 flight on November 14.
