The Laggala Pradeshiya Sabha budget proposals for 2022 were defeated for the second time yesterday (8).
The budget proposal which was read by Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha, Buddhika Senaratane was defeated by five votes, when it was presented for the second time.
There were 11 votes against the budget proposal while there were only 6 votes in favour of the proposals made.
Five UNP members, three SLPP members, two SLFP members and the only JVP member representing the Sabha voted against the budget.
The Chairman and five members of the Pradeshiya Sabha voted in favour of the budget.
The first reading of the budget proposals presented on November 25 also had been defeated.
