The Navy, Police, Special Task Force and Sri Lanka Coast Guard Department in several raids carried out together within a day detected beedi leaves weighing 2,447 KGs to the value of Rs 17 million.
The raids were carried out in Puttalam, Palavi, Chilaw and
Negombo coastal areas.
Of the total quantity about 1,400 Kgs was found in a cooler lorry while some stocks had been abandoned.
